POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam volleyball team (11-16) nearly pushed Clarkson University (14-9) to a fifth set before falling 3-1 on Senior night.
Clarkson pulled away in set one for a 25-14 win. The Bears answered with big leads en route to a 25-15 victory in set two. The Golden Knights held on for 25-21 and 25-23 wins in the third and fourth sets to complete the win.
Sophomore outside hitter
Nicole Hansen (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) led Potsdam with 12 kills and six digs. Sophomore middle hitter
Monica Mack (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) finished with 11 kills, two blocks and two digs. Sophomore outside hitter
Gabby Scott (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) added seven kills and 16 digs. Junior libero
Natalie Magallon (Commerce, Calif./Bell Gardens) totaled 24 digs, four aces and two assists and senior defensive specialist
Maddie Kaplan (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Peru) posted 12 digs. Senior setter
Brianna Rodda (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem East) rounded out the leaders with 30 assists, 10 digs and two aces.

Rachel Pridell (Lowville, N.Y./Lowville), Kaplan and Rodda were honored for their careers.
The Bears are back in action on Friday evening, when they travel to Saratoga Springs to face Skidmore College at 8 p.m.
