POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam volleyball team (3-7) made the Stevens Institute of Technology (9-3) work, but the Ducks eventually captured the 3-1 victory on the final day of the Golden Knights Invitational. Junior libero
Natalie Magallon (Commerce, Calif./Bell Gardens) was named to the all-tournament team.
Stevens rolled to a 25-11 set one victory. The Bears had the Ducks on ropes twice late in set two, but Stevens rallied for a 25-23 win. Potsdam's excellent serving helped the Bears to a 25-19 win in the third set, but the Ducks held on for a 25-18 win in the finale.
Sophomore outside hitter
Gabby Scott (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) led Potsdam with nine kills, two aces and 12 digs. Sophomore middle hitter
Monica Mack (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) added six kills, three aces and two blocks and freshman setter
Alyssa Rogers (Anchorage, Alaska/Grace Christian) also contributed six kills and four assists. Magallon totaled 18 digs and three blocks. Senior setter
Brianna Rodda (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem East) finished the weekend with 22 assists and senior defensive specialist
Maddie Kaplan (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Peru) added 10 digs.
The Bears are back in action on Tuesday night when they host SUNY Canton at 7 p.m.
