POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam women's volleyball team (8-11, 2-3 SUNYAC) took the opening set from Oswego State (16-6, 3-2), but fell 3-2 on Saturday afternoon. Junior captain

Jessica Ader (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) provided more strong play for the Bears with 12 kills and 11 kills and 22 digs, respectively.
Potsdam opened the match with a 25-20 win, but the Lakers rallied for 25-15 and 25-16 victories. The Bears forced a fifth set with another 25-20 win, but Oswego took advantage of a fast start for a 15-3 decision in set five.
Freshman outside hitter
Mikayla Myers (Gloversville, N.Y./Mayfield) provided eight kills for Potsdam and freshman setter
Kendall Jones (Parker, Colo./Elizabeth) posted 30 assists and 11 digs. Senior captain
Natalie Magallon (Commerce, Calif./Bell Gardens) finished with a game-high 34 digs.
Senior outside hitter Sarah Massie (Cobalt, Conn./East Hampton) recorded a contest-best 15 kills for the Lakers along with a block and an assist. Fellow senior outside hitter Shauna O'Flaherty (Garrison, N.Y./Walter Panas) had 14 kills and junior right side Melissa Lussier (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) totaled 14 digs and eight aces. Senior setter Julia Flohr (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) posted 44 assists, 15 digs and three blocks. Junior libero Emily Costa (Ossining, N.Y./Maria Regina) contributed 19 digs and three aces, while senior middle back Lauren Fie (Corning, N.Y./Corning Painted Post) had four blocks and four aces.
Next weekend, the Bears head to New Paltz on Friday at 6 p.m. and Oneonta on Saturday at 1 p.m.
