ONEONTA, N.Y.—SUNY Oneonta (19-6, 6-3 SUNYAC) held off the SUNY Potsdam women's volleyball team (8-13, 2-5 SUNYAC) for a 3-1 (25-14, 20-25, 25-23, 25-20) win on Saturday afternoon.
Junior captain
Nicole Hansen (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) paced Potsdam with 10 kills, nine digs and one ace. Freshman outside hitter
Jessica Ader (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) posted eight kills, 12 digs and a block and junior captain
Monica Mack (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) also had eight kills. Freshman setter
Kendall Jones (Parker, Colo./Elizabeth) added 26 assists and senior captain
Natalie Magallon (Commerce, Calif./Bell Gardens) finished with a game-high 24 digs, two aces and two assists.
Victoria Moulder led the Red Dragons with 12 kills and eight blocks. Clara Culeton also had 12 kills along with two blocks. Kathryn Johnson totaled 10 kills and a block. Jessica Fowler recorded 47 assists and three aces. Katelyn McDonough, Lindsay Pelaccio and Carsyn Rachuta had 14, 11 and 10 digs, respectively. Rachuta also had a game-high four aces.
The Bears are back home next weekend as they host Fredonia on Friday at 6 p.m. and Buffalo State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
