Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Bears fall at Geneseo, 3-1

GENESEO, N.Y.—SUNY Geneseo (5-6, 1-3 SUNYAC) scored three times in the second half to defeat the SUNY Potsdam men's soccer team (3-9-1, 1-3) 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. Freshman midfielder Justin Lamando (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) scored his second goal of the weekend for the Bears and sophomore goalkeeper Conor Callan (Piermont, N.Y./Tappan Zee) made six saves.

Despite being outshot 8-3 in the first half, the Bears were able to stay even in a scoreless contest. Callan made three saves in the opening 45 minutes.

The Knights broke through just 2:35 into the final period as James Perrone struck for a 1-0 lead. In the 56th minute, Aiden Rice scored the eventual game-winner. At 75:24, Lamando picked up a loose ball at the left side and fired it home off of a Knight defender to cut the lead in half. However, the comeback was cut short when Ariel Samoohy made it 3-1 just 4:14 later. Callan continued to keep Potsdam in the game with three more saves, but the offense couldn't get any closer.

Will Price made two stops to earn the win for Geneseo.

The Bears are back in action next Saturday when they travel to Plattsburgh for a 1 p.m. contest.
