ONEONTA, N.Y.—SUNY Oneonta (7-8, 2-3 SUNYAC) defeated the SUNY Potsdam men's lacrosse team (4-8, 1-3) 18-7 on Saturday afternoon. Junior captain
Josh Huiatt (Lisbon, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams) led the Bears with two goals and an assist, while senior captain
Gabe Carbone (Accord, N.Y./Rondout Valley) and freshman midfielder
Alec Miller (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) each added a goal and an assist. Oneonta's Stephen Panno led all scorers with nine goals.

Josh Bradford (Whitney Point, N.Y./Limestone College) to open the scoring 1:12 into the contest. Oneonta battled back with a 6-1 run over the rest of the first quarter. Panno began and ended the Red Dragon's scoring with two goals. Carbone briefly tied the game at 2-2 with a goal at 10:10.
Oneonta scored the first six goals of the second quarter, including two man-up goals and three more from Panno. Huiatt ended the run with the final goal of the first half at 1:44.
The Bears made up some ground in the third quarter, outscoring the Red Dragons 3-2. Huiatt fed senior attackman
Sean Coe (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) to start the second half scoring at 13:45. Huiatt then made it a 12-5 game with an assist from senior attackman
Kyle Smith (Theresa, N.Y./Indian River) at 10:25. Panno ended the 3-0 run with his sixth goal at 7:09 before Miller answered at 4:30. Thomas Moore extended Oneonta's lead back to 14-6 at 1:31 and the score was unchanged after 45 minutes.
The Red Dragons pulled away again in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Bears 4-1. Panno scored his seventh, eighth and ninth during a 5-0 run. Potsdam got the final marker of the contest as Miller set up freshman midfielder
Emil Martin (Glen Cove, N.Y./Glen Cove) for his first collegiate goal with 1:51 left.

Zach Sheridan (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) allowed 10 goals and made four saves in the first 21:39. Sophomore
Mike Nowak (Lockport, N.Y./Lockport) made nine saves and allowed eight goals in the next 34:11, while freshman
Jack Corcoran (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) made one save in the final 4:10. Oneonta's Zachary Flynn earned the win after making eight saves and giving up three goals in the first 29:50.
Bears junior faceoff specialist
Luke Vitale (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlow) won 17 of 26 faceoffs and collected a game-high 11 ground balls.
Next, Potsdam heads to Plattsburgh State for a 7 p.m. contest on Wednesday.
