Jessica Ader (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) had a career day with a team-high nine kills, three aces and chipped in three digs.
The Bears eased past the Bengals in the first set 25-12 and then held off late charges in the final two by identical 25-21 scores. Sophomore outside hitter
Emme Price (Glendale, Ariz./Webster Thomas) and freshman middle hitter
Caitlin Retzlaff (Milton, Fla./Pace) each had seven kills, while Price also contributed two blocks. Senior captain
Natalie Magallon (Commerce, Calif./Bell Gardens) posted 15 digs, four assists and three aces. Freshman setter
Kendall Jones (Parker, Colo./Elizabeth) had another strong day with 19 assists, six digs and a block. Junior captain
Nicole Hansen (Fulton, N.Y./G. Ray Bodley) rounded out the leaders with five kills, three digs and two aces.
Junior outside hitter Luse Lumas (Ewa Beach, Hawaii/Taft College) led the Bengals with a game-high 11 kills to go with five digs, an ace and a block. Fellow junior outside hitter Rachel Nurse (Honolulu, Hawaii/Cal State Fullerton) contributed seven kills and freshman outside hitter Erika Gutierrez (Lindsay, Calif./Harmony Magnet) finished with four kills, an ace and a block. Freshman setter Beatriz Garrido (Madrid, Spain/Colegio Montserrat) recorded a game-high 21 assists to go with eight digs and three aces. Junior libero Kaylee Neher (Taft, Calif./Taft College) added eight digs.
The Bears are now off until they head to Clarkson and St. Lawrence on Friday. Potsdam faces the Golden Knights at Clarkson at 4 p.m. and the Saints at SLU at 7 p.m.
