The Skyhawks struck quickly, grabbing a 1-0 lead just 2:20 into the contest on a goal from Colin Quinn. Potsdam clamped down after the goal and put pressure on Stonehill, building a 14-6 advantage in shots. With just 12 seconds left in the period, Young tied the score with a helper from sophomore forward

The teams combined for five goals in the second period. Panzeca gave the Bears their first lead of the game with helpers from Venter and junior forward
Paul Michura (Chester, N.J./New Jersey Rockets) at 3:44. Stonehill regained the lead with goals from Charles Page at 4:35 and Zachary Frament at 7:33, the later coming on the power play. However, Venter tied the game at 3-3 with a power-play marker of his own at 11:18 and junior defenseman
Joseph Richardson (Palm Beach, Fla./PAL Islanders) set up Winikates at 13:56 to jump back in front. Potsdam outshot the Skyhawks 17-6 in the middle stanza.
Potsdam held on to the advantage until the 11:44 mark of the third period. After taking a tripping penalty, Seth Murray struck to knot the score at 4-4. Nearly five minutes later, Page buried his second for the eventual game-winner. With 1:57 to play, the Bears pulled sophomore goalie
Ryan Glander (Campbell Hall, N.Y./Rochester Junior Monarchs) for an extra attacker. The Skyhawks responded with an empty-net goal to close the scoring with 1:08 to play.
Matthew Schoen made 39 saves to earn the win. Glander finished with 13 stops. Stonehill was 2-for-4 on the man advantage and Potsdam was 1-for-3.
The Bears head to Curry College tomorrow at 2:50 to wrap up their first weekend of 2020.
