Zaire Rogers (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cheektowaga) led the Bears with career-highs in kills (15) and digs (24). Sophomore setter
Alec Roy (North Tonawanda, N.Y./North Tonawanda) also had a career night with personal bests in assists (32) and digs (16).
The Bears fell 25-20 in the first set before rallying for a 25-17 win in set two. After being pushed to the brink with a third set loss of 25-20, Potsdam battled to 25-22 and 15-8 victories in the last two frames to close out the win.
Junior middle hitter
Brendan Wall (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) had career-highs in kills (10) and digs (13) to go along with two aces. Senior outside hitter
Saluhu Malam (Bronx, N.Y./Harry S. Truman) contributed five kills.
Aaron Brody led Dean with a contest-best 16 kills and three aces. John Kauffman recorded 14 kills and 15 digs. Jake Kelley had six kills and an ace. Tyler Martins posted 31 assists and 13 digs, while Aaron Rivers had 21 digs.
The Bears will have their hands full tomorrow as they battle the nation's No. 1 and No. 3 teams in Springfield College and New York University at Springfield tomorrow. Potsdam faces the host and top-ranked Pride at 3 p.m. before taking on the third-ranked Violets at 5 p.m.
