SPRINGFIELD, MASS. –The SUNY Potsdam men's volleyball team (3-10) fell to No. 1 Springfield College (13-1) and No. 3 New York University (10-0) by identical 3-0 scores at the Springfield College Tri-Match on Saturday evening.
Against the host Pride, the Bears fell 25-13, 25-20 and 25-11. Freshman outside hitter
Zaire Rogers (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cheektowaga) led Potsdam with five kills, three digs and an ace. Sophomore setter
Alec Roy (North Tonawanda, N.Y./North Tonawanda) registered three kills, five assists and an ace and junior middle hitter
Brendan Wall (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) had four digs.
The No. 3 Violets took all three sets in the finale by 25-8, 25-14 and 25-19 scores. Junior outside hitter
Justin Crovetto (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) paced Potsdam with four kills and five digs. Roy had six assists and an ace. Rogers totaled four kills, an ace, a block and three digs. Junior outside hitter
Ernest Sosa had three kills and freshman libero
Kiernan Morgan (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream North) had four digs.
The Bears are back in action Wednesday Mar. 4 when they host NVU-Johnson at 6 p.m.
