SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam women's volleyball team (6-14) fell to Skidmore College (11-15) and on the first day of competition at the Skidmore Invitational.
The Bears lost to the Thoroughbreds in the opening match of the tournament 3-0 (23-25, 13-25, 11-25).
Junior outside hitter
Jessica Ader (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) led the Bears' offense with seven kills, while also contributing one ace and three digs. Junior middle hitter
Emme Price (Glendale, Ariz./Deer Valley) and freshman outside hitter
Megan Henry (Condor, N.Y./Condor) totaled four kills apiece for the Bears. Fellow junior
Alyssa Rogers (Anchorage, Alaska/Grace Christian) racked up 11 assists and senior libero
Nikki Ramirez (West Covina, Calif./Bishop Amat) chipped in seven digs.
For the Thoroughbreds, Grace Aronson had a game high of 11 kills while Zoe Beals totaled nine kills on the night. Jessica Shulman had 18 assists and two aces while Elizabeth Miller contributed 13 digs.
Potsdam wraps the season tomorrow, playing a pair of matches at 1 p.m. against the Sage Colleges and 3 p.m. against Union College.
