Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

No. 1 Geneseo overpowers Bears

GENESEO, N.Y.—Top ranked SUNY Geneseo (5-0, 3-0 SUNYAC) defeated the SUNY Potsdam men's hockey team (0-4, 0-4) 8-0 on Saturday night. Tyson Gilmour and Dan Bosio each scored twice for the Knights.
 
Geneseo scored twice in the first period. Henry Cleghorn scored at 13:28 and Gilmour notched his first at 18:53. Gilmour made it a 3-0 game at 17:14 of the second period. The Knights then broke the game open with five goals in the third period, including three on the power play. Bosio scored on the man advantage at 1:50. Tommy win scored an even strength marker 1:06 later. Bosio buried his second at 9:45. Jared Thomas and Justin Cmunt closed the scoring with power-play goals at 12:36 and 14:36, respectively.
 
Bears junior goalie Connor Green (New Port Richey, Fla./Tampa Bay Juniors) made 37 saves and allowed six goals in the first 51:10. Freshman Nico Gamarra (Milton, Vt./Islander Hockey Club) allowed two goals in the last 8:50. Adam Harris stopped 11 shots for Geneseo to earn the shutout.
 
The Bears are back in action next Friday when they head to Fredonia for a 7 p.m. contest.
