Michael Paglucca (North Reading, Mass./New Hampshire Avalanche) made 32 saves for the Bears.
Carter Dwyer opened the scoring at 6:53 of the first period with an even-strength marker. Just 1:59 later, James Philpott doubled the lead on the Continentals' first power play of the game. Hamilton outshot Potsdam 12-10 in the period.
There was no scoring in the second period. Each team earned a power play, but was unable to take advantage.
At 6:02 of the third period, Chad Varney closed the scoring with another power-play goal. The teams each had two more power-play opportunities, but couldn't generate anymore strong scoring chances.
Sean Storr made 27 saves to clinch the shutout for the Continentals.
The Bears return to SUNYAC play on Friday night when they head to North Country rival Plattsburgh at 7 p.m.
