No. 18 Red Dragons complete season sweep of Bears

CORTLAND, N.Y. – No. 18 SUNY Cortland (7-1, 5-0 SUNYAC East) defeated the SUNY Potsdam women's lacrosse team (3-6, 0-5) 18-1 on Wednesday afternoon. Freshman midfielder Novaleigh LeGrow (Massena, N.Y./Massena) scored for the Bears.
 
Sophomore goalie Netta Terrance (Akwesasne, N.Y./Salmon River) allowed 14 goals and made six saves in the first half. Senior Natalie Wasielewski (Carnegie, Pa./Chartiers Valley) made her college lacrosse debut in net, stopping six shots and allowing four goals in the second half. Junior midfielder Calena Rodriguez (Albany, N.Y./Albany) and senior midfielder Kiera Thacker (Oakville, Ontario/T.A. Blakelock) each collected two ground balls.
 
Hannah Lorenzen had a big day for the Red Dragons with three goals and three assists. Rachel Janis scored two goals and assisted on two. Shelby Meduski scored two goals and added an assist, while Cecelia Procopio and Katie Goodrich rounded out the leaders with a goal and two assists each. Goalie Paige Potter made two saves on the day.
 
The Bears are now off for a week before they head to Plattsburgh State next Wednesday for a 4 p.m. contest.
