POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam women's volleyball team (12-10, 2-7 SUNYAC) trailed SUNY Plattsburgh (4-14, 0-9) in sets twice before rallying to take sets four and five for the 3-2 victory. Senior captain Jessica Ader (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) had 13 kills, 12 digs and four aces to pace Potsdam and senior outside hitter Mikayla Myers (Gloversville, N.Y./Mayfield) added 11 kills and two blocks.
 
Plattsburgh held off a late Bears rally in set one to win 28-26. Potsdam bounced back for a 25-18 set two win. After the Cardinals took set three 25-17, the Bears claimed 25-19 and 15-6 wins in sets four and five. Senior setter Colleen Murphy (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) had 22 assists and senior libero Mackenzie Fischer (Cottekill, N.Y./Rondout Valley) contributed a career-high 20 digs. Junior outside hitter Sophia Rowny (Glenville, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) also had a personal best 18 digs. Senior libero Marley Hawthorne (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) and freshman setter Sophia Layer (Winthrop, N.Y./Potsdam) each posted four aces.
 
Freshman right side Kyleigh Ganz (Phoenix, Ariz./Seton Catholic Prep) had a contest-best 14 kills along with 18 assists and two blocks for the Cardinals. Freshman middle hitter Jeannette Ashong (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Arlington) registered 10 kills and three blocks. Graduate student middle hitter Alicia Fisher (Brooklyn, N.Y./Science Skills) had nine kills. Junior setter Emma Rivers (Nesconset, N.Y./Smithtown West) had 26 assists, nine digs and two aces. Junior outside hitter Payton Zophy (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) finished with 21 digs and freshman libero Madison Bollinger (Tolleson, Ariz./University) added nine. Graduate student right side Kaitlyn Bjelko (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Beekmantown) rounded out the leaders with five aces.
 
The Bears have two nonconference matches tomorrow. They face Skidmore College at Clarkson University at 4 p.m. before squaring off with the host Golden Knights at 6 p.m.
