POTSDAM, N.Y. – The SUNY Potsdam women's volleyball team (13-11) defeated Skidmore College (8-14) 3-2 (15-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 15-13) in the first matchup of the evening. Senior outside hitter
Jessica Ader (Highland Mills, N.Y./Monroe-Woodbury) registered 14 kills, two service aces, and a team-high 26 digs in the win. Junior outside hitter
Sophia Rowny (Glenville, N.Y./Burnt-Hills-Ballston Lake) matched her teammate's kills total with 14, along with 19 digs.
Senior outside hitter
Mikayla Myers (Gloversville, N.Y./Mayfield) added ten kills for the Bears. Sophomore outside hitter
Marissa Wagoner (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) totaled 6 kills and two blocks while junior setter
Kendall Jones (Parker, Colo./Elizabeth) contributed 4 kills. Senior setter
Colleen Murphy (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) led Potsdam with 30 assists while also tallying two service aces. Freshman setter
Sophia Layer (Winthrop, N.Y./Potsdam) recorded 16 assists and two service aces. Senior outside hitter
Mackenzie Fischer (Cottekill, N.Y./Rondout Valley) posted 14 digs to round out the defensive effort for the Bears.
Jo Blanco recorded 18 kills to lead the scoring effort for the Thoroughbreds. Alex Estey complimented her teammate with 15 kills and one service ace. Chelsea Winegar had nine kills and twelve digs. Sophie Sacco matched Winegar with nine kills. Elizabeth Miller registered 25 digs. Tiffany Flores totaled 28 assists and 13 digs while Audrey Powell added 26 assists.
Clarkson University (14-9) took the second matchup of the evening 3-0 (6-25, 12-25, 13-25). Ader totaled five kills and six digs. Myers and Jones both added two kills each. Murphy registered five assists and four digs. Sophomore libero
Morgan Buckley (Third Lake, Ill./Grayslake North) and senior defensive specialist
Enma Bautista (East Patchogue, N.Y./Bellport) recorded five digs and two digs, respectively.
Allyson Treichel led Clarkson with 10 kills. Isabelle Crow posted 31 assists. Kristin Werdine and Emma Baxter tallied 12 and 11 digs for the Golden Knights, respectively.
The Bears are back in action next Wednesday, October 26, when they host their senior day matchup against Cazenovia College at 6 p.m.
