Each team had two power-play opportunities in the third period, but were unable to capitalize. At 10:49, Ryan Bunka scored the contest's last goal.
Green finished with 38 saves and Cal Schell earned the win with nine stops in the first period. Richie Parent allowed two goals and stopped five shots in the last two periods. Potsdam was 1-for-5 on the power play and the Lakers went 0-for-3.
The Bears are back in action next Friday at 7 p.m. when they host No. 2 SUNY Geneseo in their home opener.
