CLERMONT, FLA.—Dominican University (Ill.) (11-1) scored 10 runs in the fourth inning to down the SUNY Potsdam softball team (0-5) 10-1 on Friday afternoon. The Bears contest with Penn State Altoona was canceled.

Anna Grottola (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot) followed with a walk and then freshman shortstop
Kaylee Dobransky (New Britain, Conn./CREC Academy of Science and Innovation) reached on a error to load the bases. Freshman left fielder
Danielle Moscarello (Arlington, Vt./Mount Anthony Union) knocked in Brandt while grounding out to short and Potsdam led 1-0.
Bears senior pitcher
Sierra Ashley (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Lisbon) limited the Stars to no runs on three hits over the first three innings, but Dominican broke out in the fourth. The Stars scored 10 runs on nine hits, including two triples, for all of their scoring in the contest.
Only five of Ashley's (0-3) 10 runs were earned. She allowed 12 hits in four innings. Sophomore
Anna Brown (Ellenburg Depot, N.Y./Northern Adirondack) threw a scoreless fifth for Potsdam. Emma Woodhouse earned the win for Dominican, allowing a run on two hits in four innings, while striking out four. Geneva Pullman allowed a hit in a scoreless fifth inning.
Brandt, Grottola and Dobransky were each 1-for-2 for Potsdam. Designated player Priscylla Rutter had a big day for the Stars, going 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Shortstop Kailey Kirkwood was 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBI. Catcher Crystal Torres was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
The Bears are now off until they host Wells College for doubleheader on Monday, March 28, beginning at 3 p.m.
