Anita Reitano (Averill Park, N.Y./Averill Park) added four points to her single-season scoring record with two goals and two assists, giving her 76 points on 50 goals and 26 assists. Sophomore
Abbigail Crahan (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Plattsburgh) made 10 saves to earn the win in her first action between the pipes.
The Bears got off to a strong start, outscoring the Blue Devils 6-2 through the first 22 minutes of the game. Senior attack
Macy Reid (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) opened the scoring at 13:02 of the first quarter. After Erin Woods tied the game for Fredonia, Reitano netted the next two to give Potsdam a 3-1 lead after one quarter. Stone scored the first goal of the second quarter and Reitano set up sophomore midfielder
Lindsey LaDue (Massena, N.Y./Massena) at 10:39 to make it 5-1. After Sarah Guariglia got one back for the Blue Devils, freshman midfielder
Tessa Pierce (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) completed the run at 8:24. Julie Culver and Woods scored back-to-back to get Fredonia within 6-4 at the half.
Potsdam outscored the Blue Devils 6-1 in the third quarter to put the game away. Stevenson scored at 12:53 and then set up Stone at 11:16. Woods got Fredonia's lone goal at 9:24. Stone and LaDue scored the next two at 8:27 and 6:12. Stevenson buried the next two at 5:17 and 1:18 for a 12-5 lead after 45 minutes.
The teams split the eight goals of the fourth quarter evenly to prevent the Blue Devils from making up any ground. Stone scored at 9:23 with an assist from Reitano. Senior defender
Kerry Mayette (Madrid, N.Y./Madrid-Waddington) struck at 6:45. Senior defender
Kara Sue Mulvaney (Carthage, N.Y./Carthage) found the back of the net at 5:10 and Reid closed the scoring with eight seconds left.
Emily Carr made 14 saves in goal for Fredonia. Woods finished with four goals and an assist to lead the Blue Devils.
Pierce had four ground balls and LaDue collected five draw controls.
The contest marked the close of the careers of Bears seniors
