Mikayla Myers (Gloversville, N.Y./Mayfield) also had a strong day for Potsdam with nine kills and two blocks.
The Bears started quickly with a 25-17 win in set one. However, the Lakers took the next three for the victory by 25-11, 25-22 and 25-17 scores. Sophomore middle hitter
Santara Hart (Meridian, Idaho/Meridian) posted five kills, a block and an ace. Senior setter
Colleen Murphy (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) finished with 23 assists, 10 digs and an ace. Freshman setter
Sophia Layer (Winthrop, N.Y./Potsdam) had 15 assists and senior outside hitter
Mackenzie Fischer (Cottekill, N.Y./Rondout Valley) contributed 12 digs.
Cara Simplicio paced the Lakers with 14 kills, 13 digs and three aces. Grace Taylor had 12 kills and two blocks. Georgia Farry registered nine kills and three blocks. Nyah Dias had a match-best 38 assists. Ally Natale had 21 digs and Kaylee Troy added 13.
The Bears are back in action next Friday when they host SUNY New Paltz at 6 p.m.
