POTSDAM, N.Y.—Clarkson University (10-7) shook off an early deficit to defeat the SUNY Potsdam women's volleyball team (4-12) 3-1 on Friday evening. Junior opposite
Alyssa Adams (Jamestown, N.Y./Randolph) led the Bears with a match-high 15 kills along with nine digs, two aces and two blocks.
The Bears took the Golden Knights by surprise in the first set, winning 25-17. Clarkson breezed to a 25-10 win in set two before outlasting Potsdam 29-27 in set three. The Knights then closed out the win 25-19 in set four. Junior outside hitter

Senior outside hitter Sara Galante (Syracuse, N.Y./Westhill) registered 15 kills, 12 digs and two blocks. Junior outside hitter Annabella Regan (Endwell, N.Y./Maine-Endwell) had 14 kills and a block. Senior middle hitter Natalie Peacock (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) finished with nine kills and two blocks. Graduate student setter Isabelle Crow (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippecanoe) stood out with 47 assists and an ace. Junior libero Abigail Spector (Rochester, N.Y./Penfield) had 19 digs and sophomore defensive specialist Cecilia Velardi (New York, N.Y./Baruch College Campus) added 12.
The Bears are back in action tomorrow when they take on the Union College Garnet Chargers at 4 p.m. at Clarkson.
