POTSDAM, N.Y.—Union College (12-9) defeated the SUNY Potsdam women's volleyball team (4-14) 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in a nonconference match at Clarkson University. Junior outside hitter Megan Henry (Candor, N.Y./Candor) led the Bears with six kills, 11 digs and a block.
 
The Garnet Chargers took the three sets by 25-18, 25-16 and 25-12 scores. Freshman outside hitter Emily Prest (Averill Park, N.Y./Averill Park) had three kills and eight digs. Freshman libero Madison Gilliland (Rossville, Ga./Lakeville Fort Oglethorpe) finished with 11 digs and two assists. Sophomore setter Sophia Layer (Potsdam, N.Y./Potsdam contributed 13 assists and three digs.
 
Graciela Escobar paced Union with 14 kills, five digs and a block. Shannon McGrath had 13 kills, five digs and an ace. Kiera Page added 10 kills and an ace. Georgia Pool had 13 digs and two kills. Sydney Scanlon posted a match-best 34 assists along with eight digs and an ace.
 
The Bears are back in action on Wednesday night when they host Paul Smith's College at 6 p.m.
