Sophia Layer (Potsdam, N.Y./Potsdam) had a match-best 38 assists to go with two blocks for the Bears.
The Lakers took set one 25-22 before Potsdam answered with 25-12 and 25-21 victories. On the brink, Oswego managed a 25-18 set four win to even the contest and then captured a 15-10 win in set five.

Senior outside hitter Sydney Chiffriller (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) totaled 16 kills and a block. Junior outside hitter Cara Simplicio (Victor, N.Y./Victor) had 12 kills, 14 digs and four aces. Senior setter Nyah Dias (Brooklyn, N.Y./Park Slope Collegiate) posted 31 digs. Senior libero Kaylee Troy (Nesconset, N.Y./Smithtown West) had 19 digs and junior defensive specialist Madison Gordon (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) finished with 13.
The Bears are back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Plattsburgh State for a 6 p.m. match.
