Lenny Perno (Rochester, N.Y./Richmond Generals) made 35 saves for the Bears.
The Bengals struck three times in the first period. Jake Meure opened the scoring at 4:09. Joe Glamos was next at 13:11. Jared Figueroa made it 3-0 at 17:30.
Jason Kwestel netted the only goal of the second period at 16:08. Buffalo State led by four after 20 minutes.
Vadim Kiriakov closed the scoring at 16:09 of the third period. Perno made 17 of his saves in the final stanza.
Marcus Cumberworth stopped 40 shots to earn the shutout. Both teams were 0-for-2 on the power play.
The Bears are now off until they head to South Burlington on January 5, to begin a two-game series at Saint Michael's College.
