ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam men's volleyball team (5-8) rattled off three straight set wins to defeat Trine University (1-7) 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. The victory completes a 2-1 weekend for the Bears at the Nazareth College. Sophomore middle hitter

After falling 25-23 to the Thunder in set one, the Bears claimed 25-20, 25-22 and 25-22 wins to pick up their fifth win of the season and fourth in the last six matches. Graduate Student outside hitter
Joe Zimmerman (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) led Potsdam again with 17 kills, 11 digs and an ace. Senior outside hitter
Zaire Rogers (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cheektowaga) contributed 12 kills. Freshman outside hitter
Duncan Tenhagen (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca West) had a personal-best 11 kills along with 14 digs and three blocks. Graduate student setter
Cooper Colesante (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) posted a season-high 51 assists and four aces. Junior outside hitter
Tom Shemik (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) had 11 digs and junior middle hitter
Jason Hendler (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) added two blocks.
Kevin Boncaro led Trine with 15 kills, while Matt Stillman had 14 kills and Johnson-Kuhao Ko'okano-Pelekai chipped in 11. Sam Bhandal provided 49 assists, seven digs and two blocks and Hunter Haas had 15 digs.
The Bears return home for the first time next weekend. They face Mount St. Joseph University at 2 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. on Saturday and Carlow University at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
