POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam men's volleyball team (11-11, 1-1NECC) rolled past undermanned Lesley University (0-7, 0-3) 3-0, before defeating Wells College (3-12) by the same score. Wells defeated Lesley 3-0 in the neutral site match.
The Bears mauled the shorthanded Lynx in the first match of the day in three straight 25-5 set wins. Graduate student setter
Cooper Colesante (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) had a 11 aces and two kills. Freshman outside hitter
Duncan Tenhagen (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca West) had eight aces. Junior outside hitter
Sam Day (Phelps, N.Y./Midlakes) led the Bears with six kills, two digs and three aces. Junior middle hitter
Sean Murray (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) had five kills, two aces and a dig. Graduate student setter
Alec Roy (North Tonawanda, N.Y./North Tonawanda) contributed four kills, eight assists and seven digs. Junior setter
Michael Anderson (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) added two kills, three aces and seven assists.
The Bears downed the Express by scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-14 in the finale. Sophomore middle hitter
Matt Kilinski (Greenfield Center, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) led the Bears with eight kills and three blocks. Tenhagen registered seven kills, six digs, two aces and two blocks. Senior opposite
Zaire Rogers (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cheektowaga) totaled five kills and two blocks. Graduate student outside hitter
Joe Zimmerman (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) had six aces and five digs. Colesante finished with 16 assists, while Roy added seven assists and three aces.
Sophomore middle blocker Confidence Burrowes (East Orange, N.J.) led the Express with seven kills. Senior outside hitter Connor Garvey (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) had five kills, six digs and a block. Freshman defensive specialist Harrison Keena (Burnt Hills, N.Y./Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) posted seven digs, three kills and three assists. Freshman setter Mason Moon (Rockport, Texas/Rockport-Fulton) had a match-high 17 assists and sophomore middle blocker Qulik Evans (Pittsburgh, Pa./Brentwood) rounded out the leaders with five digs.
The Bears are back in action on Friday evening when they travel to Northern Vermont University at Johnson for a 6 p.m. NECC contest.
