POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam men's volleyball team (15-13, 4-2 NECC) fell to NECC foe Endicott College (9-9, 5-0 NECC) in a four-set battle at Maxcy Field House on Saturday afternoon. Graduate student outside hitter
Joe Zimmerman (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) led the Bears offensively, recording 14 kills.
The Bears took set one 25-16, but lost the last three sets with scores of 25-17, 25-23 and 25-10. Junior middle hitter
Jason Hendler (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) had a match-high of four aces. Hendler also tallied seven kills and four blocks for the Bears. Senior outside hitter
Zaire Rogers (Cheektowaga, N.Y/Cheektowaga) posted seven kills and three blocks. Graduate student setter
Cooper Colesante (Central Square, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) tallied 30 assists and two kills. Junior outside hitter
Tom Shemik (Grand Island N.Y./Grand Island) led the Bears in digs with nine.
Endicott graduate student outside hitter Rafa Robert (San Juan, P.R./Cypress Bay) had a contest best 16 kills and recorded six digs. Senior outside hitter Mason Mallory (Playa del Rey, Calif./Palisades Charter) posted 12 kills and eight digs. Graduate student middle blocker Nikolas Kasprzak (Windham, N.H./Windham) added nine kills, 10 blocks and an ace. Senior setter Gabe DeBenedetto (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) finished with a match-high 44 assists to go with three blocks.
The Bears are back in action tomorrow with another NECC match at noon against Nichols College.
