The Mustangs outshot the Potsdam 6-5 in the opening half, though just one of the attempts got through to Schiel. Potsdam tested Morrisville junior keeper Caleb Lucero (Syracuse, N.Y./Faith Heritage) three times in the first 45 minutes. However, the contest was scoreless at the break.
Morrisville generated nine shots to Potsdam's six in the second half, but Schiel made another five stops. Lucero turned aside three more shots in the second half. Neither side was able to crack the scoreboard.
The Mustangs outshot the Bears 15-10 on the evening and finished with a 7-4 advantage in corners. Lucero made four stops for his own shutout.
The Bears are back in action on Saturday when they head to Canton for a 1 p.m. contest at St. Lawrence University.
