Saratoga Springs, N.Y. – The SUNY Potsdam women's soccer team (2-1) fell to Skidmore College (2-0-1) 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. Senior goalkeeper
Savannah Bowie (Mechanicville, N.Y./Mechanicville) registered eight saves for the Bears.
The Thoroughbreds came out aggressive to start the first half. They tallied seven shots with two of those on-target in the opening 23 minutes. Bowie made two saves in the opening half and Avery Rogers turned aside two shots as the Thoroughbreds took a 1-0 lead into the break.
Both defenses had a strong second half showing. Bowie foiled six shots while Rogers stopped two shots to keep the game scoreless. Skidmore generated two corner kicks in the final 20 minutes, but Potsdam's defenders managed to hold the Thoroughbreds at bay.
