POTSDAM, N.Y.—The 25th-ranked SUNY Cortland Red Dragons (9-3-3, 3-1-1 SUNYAC) scored twice in the second half to defeat the SUNY Potsdam men's soccer team (5-6-2, 1-4) 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Senior forward Yasin Choukri (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) scored with an assist from senior forward Matt Shultz (Oneonta, N.Y./Oneonta) to open the scoring at 67:23.
  • Choukri stuck again at 72:48 to make it 2-0.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Cortland outshot the Bears 13-12 and built a 7-3 advantage in corners.
  • Graduate student goalie Lucas Schiel (Bremen, Germany/Colegio Humboldt) finished with three saves.
