MORRISVILLE, N.Y.—Senior captain
Justin Mossey (Amity Harbor, N.Y./Kellenberg) scored with less than three minutes left to give the SUNY Potsdam men's soccer team (6-8-3, 2-6-1 SUNYAC) a 1-0 victory at Morrisville State (4-8-4, 1-6-2) on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mossey scored his team-leading eighth goal at 87:35 with an assist from freshman forward Jayson Viola (Harrison, N.Y./Harrison). The helper was the first assist of Viola's collegiate career.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Bears outshot the Mustangs 22-6 and had eight corner kicks to Morrisville's two.
- Freshman goalie James Kelm (Chester, N.Y./Chester Academy) made two saves for his first career shutout and victory.
- Caleb Lucero stopped nine shots for the Mustangs.
- Potsdam is now 3-3-1 in the all-time series with Morrisville and is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings.
