POTSDAM, N.Y.—Seventh-ranked Plattsburgh State (2-1, 1-1 SUNYAC) scored twice in the third period to defeat the SUNY Potsdam women's hockey team (2-1-1, 0-11) 3-0 on Friday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore defenseman Adriana Urban (Monroe, N.J./Hoosac School) scored on a shot from the left point to open the scoring at 15:00 of the first period. Graduate student forward Mae Olschansky (Las Vegas, Nev./North American Hockey Academy) and junior defenseman Taya Balfour (Moorestown, N.H./Philadelphia Jr. Flyers) picked up the assists.
- After a Bears turnover, sophomore forward Emily Kasprzak (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Pittsburgh Penguins Elite) scored off a rebound on a shot from freshman forward Ella Procyk (Stanford, Conn./Lovell Academy) at 12:14 of the third period.
- Just 1:01 later, freshman forward Kate Conlon (New Hudson, Mich./Little Caesar's) scored in the slot to make it 3-0. Fifth-year forward Ciara Wall (Somerville, Mass./University of New Hampshire) and junior defenseman Su-An Cho (Madison, Ala./Florida Alliance) each assisted on the goal.
- With 3:08 remaining, Potsdam pulled junior goalie Magalie Parent (Trois-Rivières, Quebec Les Diablos – Cégep de Trois-Rivières) for an extra attacker but the score remained the same.
