GENEVA, N.Y.—Top-ranked and two-time defending National Champion Hobart College (2-0) defeated the SUNY Potsdam men's hockey team (1-1) 6-0 on Saturday evening. The Statesmen scored four times in the third period.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ryan Remick opened the scoring at 9:21 of the first period with assists from Josh Doolan and Matthew Iasenza.
- Chris Duclair scored a power-play goal 1:05 into the second period with assists from Bauer Morrissey and Tamas Toth.
- Tanner Daniels made it 3-0 3:51 into the third period on a feed from Austin Mourar.
- Remick notched his second 59 seconds later with assists from Toth and Connor Elliott.
- Conor Lally scored an unassisted marker at 12:52.
- Daniels scored his second at 14:36 while shorthanded with a helper from Shane Shell to close the scoring.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Statesmen outshot the Bears 44-10.
- Hobart was 1-for-6 on the man advantage and Potsdam was 0-for-2.
- Sophomore goalie Lenny Perno (Rochester, N.Y./Richmond Generals) made 38 saves.
