MORRISVILLE, N.Y.—Morrisville State (4-3, 1-1 SUNYAC) pulled away from the SUNY Potsdam men's' basketball team (1-6, 1-1) midway through the second half en route to a 78-64 victory on Saturday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Morrisville used a 19-6 run to open up a 25-12 lead with 5:52 left in the first half.
• The Mustangs led by as many as 14, but the Bears closed to within 31-22 at the half. Sophomore guard Mohammad Sylla (Bronx, N.Y./Darrow) had 10 points in the first 20 minutes.
• Morrisville pulled away in the second half and Potsdam was unable to catch up.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• The Mustangs were red hot from the floor, shooting 50-percent, while the Bears shot 36.1.
• Morrisville outrebounded Potsdam 48-29.
• Freshman guard Mike Hancock (Bayville, N.Y,/Locust Valley), senior guard Walter deFreitas (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) and junior guard John Blackwood (Mayfield, N.Y./Lee Academy Prep) each scored 12 points for the Bears.
• Sylla finished with 10 points and four rebounds.
• Yvan Fils-Aime and Avion Grainger led Morrisville with 18 and 13 points, respectively.
