FREDONIA, N.Y.—SUNY Fredonia (5-8, 3-3 SUNYAC) scored the game's only goals in the second period to defeat the SUNY Potsdam men's hockey team (4-8, 2-4) 2-0 on Saturday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams battled evenly in the first period, but there was no scoring.
- The Blue Devils turned up the pressure in the second period and scored twice.
- Fredonia got on the board at 13:16 with a power-play goal from Luke Morris. Ryan Bailey and Sam Schrenka had the assists.
- Just 13 seconds later, Gavin Bloder made it 2-0 with assists from Dillon Schmidt and David Sudbrink.
- The Bears pulled sophomore goalie Lenny Perno (Rochester, N.Y./Richmond Generals) for an extra attacker with 42 seconds left in the third, but couldn't crack Fredonia's defense.
