Game Recap: Men's Volleyball | | Michael LaShomb, Athletic Communications Assistant

Lions overpower Bears, 3-0

Quincy, Mass. – Eastern Nazarene College (12-5, 3-1 NEVC) defeated the SUNY Potsdam men's volleyball team (10-11, 1-3 NEVC) 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Lahue Athletic Center. Junior middle hitter Matt Kilinski (Greenfield Center, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) paced the Bears with 13 kills and three blocks and sophomore outside hitter Duncan Tenhagen (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca West) tallied 10 kills and three digs.

Eastern Nazarene swept all three sets from the Bears with 25-18, 25-22, and 25-14 scores. Freshman outside hitter Calum Anderson (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) registered four kills and freshman outside hitter Darius Dorsey-Rhule (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont Memorial) posted two kills, four digs, and two blocks. Senior middle hitter Sean Murray (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) had two kills and four total blocks. Senior captain Michael Anderson (Lindenhurst, N.Y./Lindenhurst) and freshman setter Alex Lombardo (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) both tallied 15 assists. Defensively, senior libero Tom Shemik (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) had six digs and graduate student opposite Zaire Rodgers (Cheektowaga, N.Y./Cheektowaga) tallied five digs and one ace.

Alejandro Garcia Fernandez paced the Lions with 17 kills, five aces, and three digs. Jacob Zarges registered 12 kills, two aces, and four digs. Jacob Lotts and Delfy Soyer each made eight kills and Aaron Huang had 39 assists to round out the leaders for Eastern Nazarene.

The Bears are back in action next Saturday when they travel to SUNY Poly for a 2 p.m. conference matchup with the Wildcats.
