POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Oneonta (10-14, 4-4 SUNYAC) swept a doubleheader on a rain-delay plagued Saturday. The Red Dragons took the opener 12-5 and the finale 14-2.
In game one, Oneonta grabbed the lead in the top of the first on an error. They then scored three more in the top of the third on four hits. The Bears' offense came alive for five runs and the lead in the bottom of the inning. Junior shortstop

Kelsey Bennett (Hammond, N.Y./Hammond) then brought in freshman right fielder
Sophia Pleat (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) with a bunt single. Junior third baseman
Kaylee LaForest (Cohoes, N.Y./Cohoes) gave the Bears the lead with a two-run single that scored Grottola and Bennett.
The advantage was short lived as the Red Dragons countered with three more in the fourth before breaking the contest open with five in the fifth to seal the victory.

Lexie Cottrill (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) (4-6) allowed 12 runs, eight earned, on 13 hits in 4.1 innings pitched. Freshman
Hannah Agans (Brasher Falls, N.Y./St. Lawrence Central) scattered three hits in 2.2 innings with a strikeout.
Dobransky was 1-for-4 with a run and Grottola was 1-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Bennett was 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI. LaForest was 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Sophomore Anna Torgerson (Chester, N.J./Mendham) (2-1) picked up the win in relief. She allowed two runs on three hits and two walks in the last five innings. Senior Marissa Dionisio (Sayville, N.Y./Sayville) allowed three runs, two earned, on three hits in two innings.
Senior right fielder Delaney Haley (Levittown, N.Y./Division Avenue) was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Senior centerfielder Adriana Flori (Newtown, Conn./Brookfield) was 2-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. Junior catcher was Julia Serena (White Plains, N.Y./Valhalla) went 4-for-5 with two runs and five RBI. Freshman second baseman Ella Stewart (Orchard Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) was 2-for-5 with two RBI and senior third baseman Victoria Hussey (Nesconset, N.Y./Smithtown East) was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
It was all Oneonta in game two. The Red Dragons put up two in the first, three in the second, four in the fourth and five in the sixth. The Bears got their two runs in the bottom of the fifth after resuming play from a rain delay. Pleat scored on an error and Grottola came in on a wild pitch.

Sierra Ashley (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Lisbon) (3-4) allowed eight runs, seven earned on 10 hits and two walks in 3.1 innings. Senior
Anna Brown (Ellenburg Depot, N.Y./Northern Adirondack) allowed six runs, five earned, on seven hits, a walk and a strikeout.
Dobransky was 1-for-3. Pleat was 1-for-2 with a run. Grottola was 1-for-3 and a run and Bennett and graduate student left fielder
Emily Beck (Lowville, N.Y./Beaver River) were each 1-for-2.
Freshman Emily Brown (Westbury, N.Y./Clarke) (4-5) went the distance for Oneonta. She allowed two unearned runs on five hits and three walks, while striking out seven.
Haley went 2-for-2 with three runs. Flori was 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run. Serena was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run. Brown helped her own cause, going 2-for-5 with two runs. Stewart was 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Senior designated player Sara Cartier (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run. Senior right fielder Gianna Cancelleri (Naples, Fla./Washingtonville) rounded out the leaders with a 2-for-4, three-run day.
The Bears are back in action tomorrow when they host first place SUNY New Paltz for two beginning at noon.
