POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam men's lacrosse team (8-5, 3-3 SUNYAC) stayed in the playoff hunt with a lopsided 17-4 victory over Plattsburgh State (4-11, 0-6) on Wednesday evening. Graduate student midfielder
Peyton Walsh (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) scored five goals to tie Bears Hall of Famer Joe Schoener '85 for the program goals mark with 134. He also raised his career point total to 184, tying Hall of Famer Jedidiah Hammill '03 for third place on Potsdam's scoring list.

Drew Rose (Brasher Falls, N.Y./St. Lawrence Central) also had five points for Potsdam on three goals and two assists. Junior attackman

Ryan Hughes (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) had two goals.
The Bears scored the first four goals of the contest and never looked back. After the Cardinals got on the board, Potsdam responded with a 10-0 run to put the game away. Walsh scored with 5:09 left in the contest on a helper from junior attackman
Owen Walsh (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) to tie the record. With about three minutes to go, Walsh just missed the record, clanging a shot off the post.
Sophomore goalie
Saka Thompson (Akwesasne, N.Y./Salmon River), the reigning SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week, was strong again in limited pressure. He allowed a goal and made six saves in the first 37:39. Junior
Liam O'Neil (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) allowed three goals and stopped three shots in the next 18:15. Senior
Chris Wilk (Rutland, N.Y./Rutland) made three saves in the last 4:16. Sophomore faceoff specialist
Drew Costello (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg Free Academy) recorded one of the most dominant performances of his career. He won 17 of his 21 chances in the circle, collected 11 ground balls and scored a goal.
Junior attackman Donald Woods (Nanuet, N.Y./Nanuet) scored three goals for Plattsburgh and senior attackman John Eiseman (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem East) had the other. Senior goalie Dan Clements (Putnam Valley, N.Y./Putnam Valley) made 11 saves allowed 14 goals in the first 42:02 and freshman Cole Orehosky (West Babylon, N.Y./West Babylon) stopped three shots and allowed three goals in the last 17:58.
The Bears head to Brockport on Saturday for a 1 p.m. regular season finale with the playoffs on the line.
