POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Geneseo (17-15, 10-2) defeated the SUNY Potsdam softball team (11-17, 4-10) 11-1 and 18-0 on Saturday afternoon. Between games, the Bears honored seniors

In game one, Geneseo scored one in the first and then broke the game open in the second with seven runs. The Knights then scored one each in the third, fourth and fifth. Potsdam got on the board in the fourth on an RBI single from freshman right fielder

Danielle Moscarello (Arlington, N.Y./Mount Anthony Union) each went 1-for-2 for Potsdam.
Junior Kaitlyn Schmitz (Eden, N.Y./Eden) allowed just a run on three hits, while striking out six in the contest's five innings.
Junior centerfielder Tory Guary (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) was 3-for-3 with four runs and two RBI for Geneseo. Senior third baseman Rebecca Schwartz (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot) was 1-for-4 with a run and two RBI. Sophomore second baseman Brooke Fraas (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) went 1-for-3 with two RBI and junior catcher Tara Brochu (Hampton Bays, N.Y./Hampton Bays) was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
The Knights broke out with six runs in the top of the first in game two. They added one in the second, three in the third, seven in the fourth and one in the fifth.
Brown (2-5) allowed 10 runs, four earned, on six hits and five walks in 2.1 innings. Graduate student
Sierra Ashley (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Lisbon) allowed seven runs, four earned on eight hits and two walks in 1.2 innings. Agans allowed an unearned run on one hit in one inning.

Kelsey Bennett (Hammond, N.Y./Hammond) and Sandor were each 1-for-1.
Freshman Gabriella Petroski (Lancaster, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) (5-1) went the distance for the Knights, scattering six hits and striking out 11.
Schwartz had another big game, going 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Fraas was 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Graduate student Aubrey Minton (Conesus, N.Y./Livonia) went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs. Sophomore shortstop Bella Nadzan (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville) and junior catcher Haley Coombs (Grand Island, N.Y./Grand Island) were each 2-for-2 with two runs.
The Bears are back in action on Tuesday, when they travel to SUNY Delhi to face the Broncos at 4 and 6 p.m.
