POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.—Sixth-ranked Vassar College (4-0) swept the SUNY Potsdam men's volleyball team (2-1) 3-0 on Friday evening.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• A 3-0 burst got Potsdam within 19-17 in set one, but the Brewers countered with a 6-4 stretch to claim a 25-21 win.
• In set two, a kill from senior middle hitter Matt Kilinski (Greenfield Center, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) got the Bears within 10-9, but Vassar finished on a 15-6 run to cruise to a 25-15 victory.
• Vassar overpowered Potsdam in the third set to complete the sweep with a25-13 decision in set.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• NEVC Athlete of the Week, junior outside hitter Duncan Tenhagen (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca West) led the Bears with 10 kills, two aces and seven digs.
• Matt Kilinski finished with seven kills, a block and three digs.
• Sophomore setter Alex Lombardo (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) rounded out the leaders with 20 assists and an ace.
