POTSDAM, N.Y.- The SUNY Potsdam women's basketball team (8-10, 4-7 SUNYAC) never trailed in a 69-61 victory over the the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs (4-13, 1-9 SUNYAC) on Friday night in Jerry Welsh Gymnasium.

WHAT HAPPENED
- The Bears started the contest on a 7-0 run and led 25-16 after one quarter.
- The scoring was even in the second quarter, with Potsdam leading by about 10 for most of the second 10 minutes. The Bears took a 40-31 lead into the locker room.
- Solid long-range shooting from the Mustangs allowed them to close to within 53-47 through three quarters.
- The Bear's defense was too much for the Mustangs to overcome in the fourth. Potsdam had a 16-14 advantage in the last quarter to close out the 69-61 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Bears had a 12-point lead in the first at the 3:01 mark, with a score of 17-5. Â
- The Bears topped the Mustangs in rebounds, 43-26
- Senior forward Jenna Cotter (Johnson City, N.Y./Susquehanna Valley) had a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
- Junior guard Daelynn Alcock (Philadelphia, N.Y./Indian River) and senior guards Carley Hill (Essex, Vt./Rice Memorial) and Barbara Bruno (Bronx, N.Y./ Brooklyn High School for Law and Technology) all recorded double digits, with 14, 15 and 16, respectively.
- Freshman guard Kieonna Christmas (Fultonville, N.Y./Fonda-Fultonville) netted 26 points, seven rebounds and five assists for a game-high.
