POTSDAM, N.Y.—Clarkson University (7-8) swept the SUNY Potsdam women's volleyball team (7-7) 3-0 on Friday evening.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Golden Knights broke a 10-10 tie in set one with a 15-5 run to take a 25-15 victory. Freshman outside hitter Ashlee Hagerman (Kirkwood, N.Y./Windsor) had four kills.
• A 6-0 run erased a 15-14 Potsdam lead in set two. Clarkson edged the Bears 25-21. Hagerman added three more kills.
• Potsdam led set three 5-2, but another Golden Knight charge led to a 25-14 win. Hagerman had three more kills and senior captain Sophia Layer (Potsdam, N.Y./Potsdam) chipped in two.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Hagerman led the Bears with 10 kills and 10 digs.
• Junior middle hitter Noelle Redeye (Cattaraugus, N.Y./Silver Creek) contributed four blocks, while fellow junior middle hitter Jacqueline Fornabia (Gansevoort, N.Y./Saratoga Central Catholic) had three.
• Layer registered 12 assists, two kills, two blocks and an ace. Freshman outside hitter Maggie Paluch (Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home) had two aces.
• Junior setter Rachel Madore (Peru, N.Y./Peru) and freshman defensive specialist Raven Sessoms (Au Sable Forks, N.Y./AuSable Valley) posted 10 and nine digs, respectively.
