ELMIRA, N.Y.—Senior captain Magalie Parent (Trois-Rivières, Quebec/Les Diablos – Cégep de Trois-Rivières) made 35 saves to blank 12th-ranked Elmira College (3-1) and help the SUNY Potsdam women's hockey team (2-2) to a 1-0 victory on Saturday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• As they had in yesterday's contest, the Bears struck first on Saturday. Sophomore forward Olivia Visco (West Seneca, N.Y./Nichols School) scored the contest's only goal with an assist from senior defenseman Rachelle Cain (Skaneateles, N.Y./Syracuse Valley Eagles).  
• Parent was outstanding throughout the entire contest, but especially in the third period when she stopped 17 shots.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• The Soaring Eagles outshot the Bears 35-19.
• Elmira was 0-for-2 on the power play and Potsdam didn't have an opportunity.
• The shutout was the fourth of Parent's career and the first in two seasons.
• Sara Sevcikova made 18 saves for the Soaring Eagles.
• It's Potsdam's second win over Elmira in the last three meetings.
