HAMBURG, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam men's volleyball team (6-6) moved back to .500 with a 3-0 win over Wilkes College (8-14) and a 3-1 over Hilbert College (7-9) on Saturday at Hilbert.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED (WILKES)

• Colonels closed to within 21-20 of the Bears in set one, but Potsdam claimed the set with a 4-0 run for the 25-20 win.
• The teams traded leads throughout set two, but the Bears scored the final three points for a 26-24 victory.
• Potsdam raced out to an 11-2 lead in set three, but Wilkes answered with a 9-1 run to get within 12-11. The Bears slowly pulled away and completed the sweep with a 25-19 win.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS (WILKES)

• Junior outside hitter Duncan Tenhagen (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca West) led the Bears with 15 kills and 13 digs.
• Senior middle hitter Matt Kilinski (Greenfield Center, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) had 12 kills, seven digs, three aces and a block.
• Junior middle hitter Mike Kilinski (Greenfield Center, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) totaled seven kills and two blocks.
• Sophomore setter Alex Lombardo (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) recorded 43 assists and freshman Charlie Cherchio (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) added eight digs.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS (HILBERT)

• The Bears took the first set 25-19.
• They outlasted the Hawks 28-26 in set two, but Hilbert returned the favor with a 29-27 win in set three.
• Potsdam then closed out the victory win a 25-16 win, getting revenge on the Hawks for an earlier season defeat.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBER (HILBERT)

• Tenhagen led the Bears again with 16 more kills, seven digs and two aces.
• Matt Kilinski had another 16 kills and eight digs.
• Freshman middle hitter Christopher Wong (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont) recorded a career-high 12 kills.
• Lombardo matched a personal best with 51 assists.
• Sophomore Darius Dorsey-Rhule (Elmont, N.Y./Elmont) had a team-high nine kills and Mike Kilinski contributed seven kills and two blocks.

The Bears are back in action on Thursday, when they travel to Dudley, Mass. for their NEVC opener against Nichols College.
