DUDLEY, MASS.—NEVC preseason favorite Nichols College (10-11, 2-0 NEVC) downed the SUNY Potsdam men's volleyball team (6-7, 0-1) 3-0 on Thursday evening.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Bears hung with the Bison throughout set one, rallying to tie 24-24 after trailing 22-19. However, Nichols went on to win 26-24.
• In set two, the teams stayed close together, but the Bison broke a 16-16 draw with a 9-3 run to pull off the 25-19 victory.
• Nichols opened the third set with a 16-5 burst and rolled to a 25-14 win to complete the sweep.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Senior middle hitter Matt Kilinski (Greenfield Center, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) led the Bears with seven kills, seven digs and one block.
• Junior middle hitter Mike Kilinski (Greenfield, Center, N.Y./Saratoga Springs) had four kills, four digs and three blocks.
• Sophomore setter Alex Lombardo (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) recorded 21 assists.
• Sophomore outside hitter Calum Anderson (East Hampton, N.Y./East Hampton) added another seven digs.
