READING, PA.—The SUNY Potsdam men's lacrosse team (3-1) rallied from an early deficit to flatten Albright College (1-7) 21-9 on the road. Senior midfielder
Drew Rose (Brasher Falls, N.Y./St. Lawrence Central) had six points to reach the 100-point plateau.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bears fell behind 3-0 early in the first quarter before rallying with a 4-1 run to tie the game. Junior faceoff specialist Drew Costello (Ogdensburg, N.Y./Ogdensburg Free Academy) and freshman midfielder Kyan Combs (Watertown, N.Y./Watertown), scored the first two and senior attackman Cobie Cree (Akwesasne, N.Y./Salmon River) had the last two. Sophomore midfielder Braden Fahey (Halfmoon, N.Y./Shenendehowa) assisted on Combs' marker.
- It was all Potsdam in the second quarter, as the Bears outscored Albright 7-1. Junior attackman Billy Kozloski (Johnson City, N.Y./Johnson City) scored three goals. Junior midfielder Tyler Gould (Webster, N.Y./Webster Schroeder), freshman midfielder Preston Daniels (Peru, N.Y./Peru), Rose and Combs scored the other goals. Cree and senior midfielder Ryan Hughes (Corning, N.Y./Corning-Painted Post) each had two assists, while Rose and senior midfielder Owen Walsh (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) added another assist each. It was 11-5 at the break.
- The Lions scored the first two goals of the third quarter, but the Bears answered with four straight. Daniels scored twice, Cree had another and Rose scored a man-up marker. Rose also added two assists and Fahey and Cree had another each. It was 15-7 Potsdam after 45 minutes.
- The Bears outscored the Lions 6-2 in the final quarter to close out the 21-9 victory. Rose, senior captain Ben Lagoner (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas), Combs and Costello each scored and Daniels added two more. Cree and Lagoner also had assists in the fourth.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Bears outshot the Lions 54-44 and successfully cleared the ball 19 of 20 times to the hosts' 15 of 21.
- Potsdam was 2-for-2 in man-up opportunities while holding Albright to zero goals in two chances.
- Cree finished with three goals and four assists for seven points to go with three ground balls.
- Rose had three goals and three assists for a career-high six points.
- Daniels also had a personal best five goals.
- Combs and Kozloski each recorded three goals and Koszloski also recorded three ground ball and three caused turnovers.
- Costello dominated again with 17 faceoff wins
- Senior captain Liam O'Neil made 15 saves and allowed nine goals in the first 57:05 to record his 11th career victory.
- Graduate student goalie Chris Wilk (Rutland, N.Y./Rutland) made one save in the last 2:55.
- Sean McNicholas made 14 saves for the Lions.
- James Elko led Albright's offense with four goals.

- Cree now has 94 goals and 42 assists for 136 points. He ranks eighth in goals and 12th in points.
- Walsh is up to 139 points with 84 goals and 55 assists. He's 11th in points, 13th in goals and 11th in assists.
