NAPLES, FLA.—The SUNY Potsdam softball team (3-3) split on the third day of its Florida trip. The Bears fell to University of Wisconsin-Superior (12-4) 4-1 but bounced back against the University of Saint Joesph (Conn.) (4-6), winning 5-1. Senior second baseman
Kaylee Dobransky (New Britain, Conn./CREC Academy of Science and Innovation) had three hits on the day to become the 11th player in program history to reach 100 for her career.
WHAT HAPPENED (UW SUPERIOR):
- The Yellowjackets took an early lead in the bottom of the first with two runs. Second baseman Carly Stuckmayer scored on a wild pitch. Pitcher Bella Garley followed with an RBI single.
- The Bears answered with a run in the top of the second. Senior centerfielder Danielle Moscarello (Arlington, Vt./Mount Anthony Union) singled to score graduate student catcher Kelsey Bennett (Hammond, N.Y./Hammond).
- In the bottom of the fifth, the Yellowjackets added two more runs to secure the 4-1 victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS (UW SUPERIOR):
- Freshman pitcher Sam Horne (Buffalo, N.Y./Kenmore West) (2-1) allowed four runs on eight hits and struck out two in six innings.
- Garley (6-4) went the distance, allowing six hits and one run.
- Bennett was 1-for-3 with one run.
- Left fielder Peyton Bennett led the Yellowjackets at the plate going 2-for-3 with two runs.
WHAT HAPPENED (SAINT JOSEPH):
- The Bluejays started the scoring off in the top of the second with an RBI double from catcher Allison Conger.
- Dobransky tied the game in the bottom of the third with a single to bring in junior shortstop Alexys Rosick (Hudson Falls, N.Y./Hudson Falls).
- The Bears were able to score four more runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 5-1 lead. Rosick had an RBI single and Dobransky added an RBI double in the inning.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS (SAINT JOSEPH):
- Senior pitcher Lexi Cottrill (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) (1-2) threw a complete game, allowing one run on six hits with one strikeout.
- Alyssa Roberts (1-2) hurled for 3.2 innings, allowing five runs on 10 hits with two strikeouts for the Bluejays.
- Analise Escarraman threw the last 2.1 innings, allowing only one hit with two strikeouts.
- Rosick led the Bears at the plate going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
- Moscarello went 2-for-3 with one run.
- Conger went 1-for-3 at the plate with one RBI for the Bluejays.

The Bears will play their last games in Florida tomorrow morning against Elms College and Geneva College 9 and 11 a.m., respectively.
