POTSDAM, N.Y.—Sophomore forward Logan Bush (Newcomb, N.Y./Newcomb) scored in the 20th minute and the SUNY Potsdam men's soccer team (2-0) made it stand up in a 1-0 win over Bard College (1-1) on Saturday afternoon.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• After a free kick, Bush buried a cross from sophomore forward JJ Williams (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) for a 1-0 lead at 19:23. Senior goalkeeper Ian Schwartz (Amsterdam, N.Y./Broadalbin-Perth) stopped three shots to preserve the lead at the half.
• Both teams rang the crossbar in the second half and each goalie made key saves, but the score was unchanged at the final whistle.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Bard outshot Potsdam 13-7 and had a similar 13-4 edge in corners.
• Schwartz stopped five shots for his sixth career win and first ever shutout.
• Raptors sophomore goalie Julian Landau (Brooklyn, N.Y./Institute for Collaborative Education) made one save and allowed a goal in the first half and freshman goalie Jake Sudit (Delray Beach, Fla./IMG Academy) made a save in the second half.
• The Bears are now 3-0 all-time against Bard. Potsdam defeated the Raptors 2-0 in Potsdam in 2013 and 5-1 in Annadale-on-Hudson in 5-1.
