Lakers blank Bears

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Lakers (12-9-2, 6-4-2) shut out the SUNY Potsdam women's hockey team (9-12-2, 4-7-1) 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Oswego scored early in the contest, as Natalie Loncz netted a goal at 2:53 in the first period, assisted by Georgia Cunliffe. 
  • Loncz doubled the Lakers' lead in the second period. Cunliffe and Jenna Majewski had the assists. 
  • Senior Bears' goaltender Magalie Parent (Trois-Rivières, Quebec/Les Diablos – Cégep de Trois-Rivières) made 14 saves in the final period to keep the score 2-0. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 
  • The Bears were outshot 44-19. 
  • Both teams were 0-for-2 on the power play. 
  • Potsdam blocked 17 shots in the contest. Oswego blocked six. 
  • Parent made a season-high 42 saves against the Lakers for a .955 save percentage. 
  • Oswego goalie Mia DeVivo made 19 saves. 

WHAT'S NEXT 
The Bears take home ice against Morrisville next Friday, February 20, at 3 p.m. for Bear Pride Night. They face off with Cortland on Saturday, February 21, at 3 p.m. for Senior Day.
