Bears wrap up Indoor regular season at SLU Open

CANTON, N.Y.—
The SUNY Potsdam track and field teams closed out the indoor track and field regular season at the SLU Open on Friday evening. The Bears women finished fifth and the men were sixth. Utica claimed the men's title and the host Saints won the women's competition. The Bears recorded four program top-10 performances.
 
Sophomore Talan Green (Canton, N.Y./Hugh C. Williams) was fifth in the Men's High Jump with a height of 1.80m. He was sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.67m. Both efforts were the second best by a Bear in each event. Sophomore Makayla Farmer (Massena, N.Y./Massena) finished fifth in the Women's Mile with a time of 5:55.25. It's Potsdam's fourth best mile time. Freshman Carli Knapp (Lovington, N.M./Lovington) placed 11th in the women's shot put with the program's ninth best distance of 8.44m.
 
Next weekend, the Bears head to the SUNYAC Indoor Championships at Brockport.
